Notices

Good afternoon all.

Just a reminder that our end of Term assembly will be held next Tuesday, December 13 at 6:00pm in the church and all are welcome. Children need to be dressed in school uniform.

Our last day is Wednesday December 14 at 3:00pm.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday night.

Easter and Teacher Only Day

This year, Easter occurs in Week 9 of this Term. Therefore Friday - April 2, Monday - April 5, Tuesday - April 6 (traditionally state and integrated schools have this off), the school will be closed.

There is also a Teacher Only Day on Wednesday, April 7, so school will be closed that day as well.

This means no school from Friday, April 2 and school starts back on Thursday, April 8. (A long, 5 day weekend to celebrate the most festive season of the Christian Year and to continue the joy and festivity of Easter Day)

Hi All

Just a few notices and reminders.

Our first week has gone very smoothly with our new pupils and returning pupils settling into class well.

* Meet The Teachers.-On Tuesday, 9th February we have a "Meet The Teachers" at school from 5:00pm and 6:00pm. This is an informal open meeting in the classrooms for one hour to enable you to get to know your child's new teacher. It is not a one on one as we have the 3-way meetings later in the year. If however you do want to discuss your child with the teacher before then  you can make an appointment for a later date.

* The majority of children have received their stationery and those that haven't can still order through us or through their own stationery supplier. If you don't have a list please contact the office.

* No Canteen-  There isn't canteen this week.

*Breakfast Club- We are looking for volunteers for Breakfast Club in the mornings for around about an hour from 8:00am. If you can help please contact the office.

*Uniforms- If you have been looking for new uniform items from The Warehouse, they are getting new stock in daily. If you would like second hand we have stock available here at school. Children do need to be wearing the correct uniform please.

* Skool Loop- This email is also sent through the  Skool Loop app, which is available through Android Playstore and Apple App Store. If you haven't already done so already, please do download as it is also great for absences .

It would be best if you accompany them.

If you are picking up your child early from school or for an appointment, please do this from the office as well.

Your child will meet you in the school office.

It is not OK to just meet them in the carpark, you need to let the office know.

St Matthews

St Matthew's Primary School is an Anglican state-integrated school, catering for students from Year 0 to 8, situated in the heart of Hastings. Since its inception in 1995, it has grown to become a small school of between 120-130 pupils.

Our motto is

"teach our children to use the right path, and when they are older they will remain on it" (Proverbs 22:6).

We achieve this by offering high-quality values and curriculum-based education within a special character context.
We have an open-door policy and we encourage all members of our community to be involved in educating our children.
St Matthews Primary School has students from around Hawkes Bay, as well as from around the world.
Our website is aimed at the whole community, students, parents and parish members, to make it an information site to find out what is happening in the school.
